On behalf of the SWD Conference Planning Committee, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the 2021 Fall Pastor’s Conference scheduled for October 18th – 20th under the theme: Preaching the Word In Season and Out of Season.
Our primary speaker for this conference will be Rev. Paul Dare from Zion Lutheran Church and School in Alexandria, MN. He writes regarding his presentations:
Systemic Racism, Privilege, Political Correctness, Woke, Anti-Racist, Social Justice, are common words in the world today. What comes to mind when you hear them? Are you able to accurately define them? Does the world feel divided along the lines of race, gender, religion, and income? Does it seem to you that young people are often losing their Christian Faith while attending college and coming out as political activists? Do you think people desire to be considered a victim or part of a victim group? To understand our world and answer these questions, a Christian in today’s America must understand Neo-Marxism, which is often called Cultural Marxism. Join us as we work through the topics of: "A Christian’s Understanding of Cultural Marxism: Its Origins, Goals and Language," “A Woke World of Racial Strife and Confusion”, and “A Call to Courage, Confession and Love.”
We will also have the Rev. Dr. Aaron Moldenhauer and the Rev. Dr. Jason Lane each presenting a paper.
There will be a special address, with time for Q&A, from Synod President, Matthew Harrison, on Tuesday morning following district business.
The venue for this year’s event will be the Radisson Hotel (200 Second Street South, 200 Harborview Plaza, La Crosse, WI 54601). Please make reservations by calling (608) 784-6680 and use the Booking ID: South Wisconsin District Pastor Conf. when making the reservation to get the reduced rate. Rooms must be reserved by Friday, September 17th.
The conference will officially begin on Monday, October 18th with our opening Divine Service at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (1215 Redwood Street Onalaska, WI 54650) at 1:00pm. Please make every effort to attend our opening time of worship together.
