A Little History
The South Wisconsin District, formed in 1916, is one of 35 districts of The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS).
Covering the southern third of the state of Wisconsin, the District serves around 84,000 baptized members from nearly 200 congregations, 25 preschools, 50 elementary schools, 7 high schools, and 1 university.
In addition to proclaiming the Gospel within our congregations, each of us has the opportunity to help one another do it outside of our own reach, out of our local neighborhoods, or even in another language.
Our elected, called, and appointed staff members serve as advisors and general resources to the members of our District.
