October 1-2, 2019 Retired Pastors, Wives & Widows Retreat

Mr. Gary Thies, Director – Mission Central is the presenter for this year’s retreat.  The global witness to the cross begins and ends in Jesus Christ, Who comes to us in the Word and Sacraments wherever the faithful community gathers. There we receive and are sent back into the world to live as the priesthood of all believers. Luther underscored the cost of discipleship in our witness of the cross as an incarnational witness of our Lord Jesus Christ. How do we do that? What does the priesthood of all believers really mean? How is the Lord using the “most not normal” people to get His work done? What’s happening today among Christians? How is the Lord using retired people in the mission field? These important questions, and more, will be addressed during Gary’s presentations during the retreat.

Our Bible Study Presenter will be Rev. Kent Schaaf – Administrative Pastor, Mt. Olive Lutheran Church & School, Milwaukee.  During the Bible study we will explore the Old and New Testament writings concerning the people of God and how they are to show hospitality or “love of stranger.” This forum will rely on open discussion as participants will share how the church shows love and serves those outside the walls. Difficult questions will be answered as we develop solutions for moving forward in the mission our Lord gives to us through the gift of hospitality.

The Ramada Grand Seasons, Waupaca is again the location for our retreat.

Cost:  $85.00 per person (two people per room) or $120.00 per single room
