DESCRIPTION:On behalf of the SWD Conference Planning Committee\, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the 2020 Fall Pastor’s Conference scheduled for October 12-14 under the theme: “Body\, Love and God: How Sex\, Marriage and Family Reveal the Gospel”. Besides all the other issues we are facing this fall – COVID\, racism tension\, political turmoil – we still have the crisis of the family. It has been said\, The family is the “first and vital cell of society.” As the family goes\, so goes the nation\, and so goes the whole world in which we live. Our people are wondering and forming their opinions: What does it mean to be family? What is marriage\, gender\, and sexuality? \nLCMS Pastors Mielke\, Nelson and Davis will share their personal journeys and lead us through a survey of the Theology of the Body. They hope to give us not only theological tools and pastoral insights to help our ministry\, but if our hearts are open\, the healing in Christ that we need as wounded men of God. \nThe venue for this year’s event will be at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Center 4601 Calumet Ave.\, Manitowoc.  Please make reservations by calling (920)-682-6000 using the Conference Code “WSPC” to get the reduced rate of $99 per night for single/double occupancy. Rooms must be reserved by Saturday\, September 12th”.  The conference will officially begin with our opening worship service with Holy Communion at the Holiday Inn at 1:00pm in our conference meeting space. The Rev. Zachary DeArmond will celebrate and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Manitowoc will be hosting the Divine Service. President Wille will serve as Preacher. \nConference Registration fee is $100.  Registration deadline has been extended to Friday\, October 2nd. \nAt your discretion\, please consider using Personal Protective Equipment\, materials will be made available by the SWD.
