Wales youth group puts servant-hood into their summer
During the week of June 30 to July 3, eleven teens and their pastor, Rev. Allen Behnke

from Bethlehem, Wales, set out each day to serve. Cooperating Congregations of Waukesha County, A Place of Refuge’s Resale Shop and the S.O.S. Center in Milwaukee were on the receiving end of their Christian love. About 40 to 60 youngsters attend the S.O.S. Center’s Summer Youth Camp that is held Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., from July through mid-August.

At each location they did sweeding and landscaping work. They also sorted clothing and straightened up items in the Resale Shop for A Place of Refuge. At the S.O.S. Center they had the opportunity help guide some of the summer campers in planting flowers and trees. “It was a great experience talking with them and hearing about how their summer was going,” Behnke said. Behnke then told Bible stories and led the summer campers in songs. The servant-teens helped out with crafts. These Bethlehem teens hope to go back this summer to help again.
