St. Peter, Reedsburg, sends thanks for flooding support
On behalf of the flood victims from St. Peter, Reedsburg, Rev. Paul Crolius sent a letter of thanks for the prayers and gifts of God's people of the South Wisconsin District.
It is not too late to make a donation to the South Wisconsin District to be directly applied to the LCMS congregations in our area. To date over $8,000 has been raised, and many groups offered to help with clean up and repair. See " Rain and floods deluge the District" for details.

Greetings in the name of our Risen Savior Jesus!
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:4-7).
Thank you very much for your prayers and gift of money for flood assistance. Your support is greatly appreciated!
We give thanks that God has blessed us with good weather! We have been able to get into the homes of most of those who have been affected by the flooding to clean and allow drying out. We have worked along side with the Red Cross and also with Disaster Relief teams that have come. Most of the 14 families that had to evacuate their homes have been able to return. However, we do have one member, an elderly woman, who ahs lost her home. She did not have any insurance. Thankfully though, she is in a nice apartment. Another elderly woman also has not as of yet been able to return to her home but is able to stay with her family. Despite all, God is providing and taking care of His people. We know we have been hit hard but we also know there are many others who have had it even worse.
We praise God for the living hope that we have in Jesus and also for the love and encouragement from others. A great blessing that has come out of the flooding is that many people have assisted in helping and have come together to encourage and help one another. People also in faith have powerfully witnessed to the great hope we have in Jesus. As one member declared in faith, while we were taking everything out of their basement including some very special personal items that were destroyed, “Pastor, it is just stuff.” Her and our greatest treasure in Jesus could not nor could ever be taken away or destroyed. What a wonderful confession of faith and hope in our great Triune God. For these blessings and many other mercies bestowed daily, we give thanks and praise to God.
Thank you again for your prayers and gift of money to assist those in need. It is truly appreciated and a blessing from above.
In Christ,
Pastor Paul Crolius
