Register now for the Int'l LLL convention July 24-27 in Lexington, Ky.
On July 24-27, 2008, the International Lutheran Laymen’s League will hold its annual convention in Lexington, Ky.—the heart of bluegrass country. This event is expected to draw over 1500 Lutherans from across the U.S. and Canada.
The convention promises to be a great time of worship and fellowship
under the theme, "Live by the Spirit" (Galatians 5:16). As we live by
the Spirit, our fruits will be love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and
other good fruits.
Devotions and messages from Rev. Ken Klaus, speaker of The Lutheran
Hour, Phyllis Wallace, host of Lutheran Hour Ministries' Woman to Woman radio program, and Rev. Mark Muenchow, pastoral advisor for the Int’l LLL, will excite you and encourage you in your faith. You will also have the opportunity to mingle with LCMS President Gerald Kieschnick and his wife, Terry, several of LHM’s international ministry center directors, and special
guest Pat Day, a jockey who struggled with addiction and experienced a
life-changing transformation through the grace of God.
Hear Klaus preach at The Lutheran Hour rally, which will also
feature the convention choir, numerous musicians from the Indiana
District, and Mile7, a contemporary Christian music group.
New this year is an enhanced outreach track targeted to younger adults,
whether single or married, on Saturday called "Reach." This convention
track will feature speakers and workshops that motivate young people for
effective outreach. Workshop topics include "conversational evangelism,"
"Singled out: Sharing your faith as a single Christian in today's
culture," "Empowering your family to witness," "Christianity and the
world's religions," and "Contending for the faith in the 21st century."
The convention committee encourages churches to sponsor a young family's
trip to Lexington to attend the inspirational events at the LLL
convention. Through the sponsorship, the family would enjoy a fun,
uplifting vacation with other Christians. There are activities for kids,
workshops for adults, and opportunities to worship together. For more

Lexington is a great place to plan a yearly vacation. Called the
horse capital of the world, the city is home to many horse farms and
racetracks for your enjoyment. Family night will be at the Kentucky
Horse Park, where convention attendees will eat dinner, tour the park,
and see a parade of different types of horses. The convention center is
located within a few blocks of the University of Kentucky Basketball
Museum, the shops at Lexington Center, the historic Mary Todd Lincoln
house, a children's museum, and the Lexington Opera House.
There are many other attractions within driving distance, including
arboretums, nature and horse farms, and other museums. LHM's convention
website has links to sightseeing information in Lexington, as well as Louisville and Cincinnati (each less than 80 miles away from Lexington).
A four-day registration costs $75, a two-day registration costs $50, and
