Lake Country Lutheran High School faculty and student representatives join leaders from The Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans as Thrivent Financial presents a $20.5 million check for the financing of the new Lake Country Lutheran High School project.

The Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee (LHSAGM) has selected Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to provide $20.5 million in financing for a new facility for Lake Country Lutheran High School. The loan officially closed in January, marking an important milestone for the $30 million building project already underway in Hartland. The loan is also the largest ever provided under Thrivent Financial’s 105-year-old lending program focused on Lutheran churches and institutions.

"Thrivent Financial for Lutherans helps turn dreams into realities," said Dr. Tom Buck, LHSAGM superintendent. "Now they are helping our long dream for Lake Country Lutheran High School become real for generations of young people and their families."

"Thrivent Financial is committed to being a long-term partner in helping the Association grow its facilities and deliver its mission," said Russell Swansen, chief investment officer of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. "Thrivent Financial is unique among financial institutions because of our extensive experience providing financial services to Lutheran organizations and our shared values with the Lutheran community."

Lake Country Lutheran High School

Lake Country Lutheran High School, one of three LHSAGM high schools, is facing a good problem—enrollment continues to rise, challenging present capacity. Currently, the school rents a former YMCA building in Oconomowoc. The new $30 million high school campus is being built at the intersection of Highways 16 and 83 in Hartland, and is expected to be complete by the spring semester of 2009.

Thrivent Financial lending program

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is a faith-based membership organization providing financial services, products and charitable outreach programs to more than 46,000 member households in Southeast Wisconsin and nearly 3 million members nationwide. Thrivent Financial’s Lutheran church and institution lending program provides mortgage financing for churches, schools and other Lutheran institutions.

With more than a century of service, Thrivent Financial’s Lutheran church and institution lending program has provided billions in financing to thousands of Lutheran organizations, including many congregations and schools in the greater Milwaukee area. As a result of this long history, Thrivent Financial has developed significant expertise in the specific needs of Lutheran churches and schools. A dedicated team of experienced lending professionals helps each congregation with its specific financial needs.

Currently, 44 Milwaukee area Lutheran organizations have loans with Thrivent Financial with a balance of $27.5 million.
