Keynote speaker:  Dr. Reggie McNeal, author/church leadership consultant

McNeal enjoys helping people, leaders and Christian organizations pursue more intentional lives. He currently serves as the missional leadership specialist for Leadership Network of Dallas, Texas. McNeal's past experience involves over a decade as a denominational executive and leadership development coach. He also served in local congregational leadership for over twenty years, including being the founding pastor of a new church. McNeal has lectured or taught as adjunct faculty for multiple seminaries, including Fuller Theological (Pasadena, Calif.), Southwestern Baptist (Ft. Worth, Texas), Golden Gate Baptist (San Francisco, Calif.), Trinity Divinity School (Deerfield, Ill.), and Columbia International (Columbia, S.C.). In addition, he has served as a consultant to local church, denomination, and para-church leadership teams, as well as seminar developer and presenter for thousands of church leaders across North America. He has also resourced the United States Army chief of chaplains office, Air Force chaplains, and the Air Force Education and Training Command. McNeal’s work also extends to the business sector, including The Gallup Organization. 

McNeal has contributed to numerous denominational publications and church leadership journals, including Leadership and Net Results. His books include Revolution in Leadership (Abingdon Press, 1998), A Work of Heart: Understanding How God Shapes Spiritual Leaders (Jossey-Bass, 2000), The Present Future (Jossey-Bass, 2003), Practicing Greatness (Jossey-Bass, 2006), and Get A Life! (Broadman & Holman, 2007).

McNeal’s education includes a B.A. degree from the University of South Carolina and M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees, both from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. 

McNeal and his wife Cathy, have two daughters, Jessica and Susanna, and make their home in Columbia, S.C. 

Main worship speaker:  Rev. Dr. Dale A. Meyer, president, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis

Dr. Dale A. Meyer currently serves as the tenth president of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo. He served as the Gregg H. Benidt memorial chair in homiletics and literature at Concordia from 2001-05. He is the author of “The Meyer Minute,” a weekday internet commentary. He serves as a member of the board of trustees of the American Bible Society. From 1989 to 2001 Meyer was speaker on the radio program "The Lutheran Hour" and until 2003 he was the host of the television show “On Main Street.”

From 1984-88, Meyer served as senior pastor at Holy Cross, Collinsville, Ill. He previously served on the faculty of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., from 1981-84 as an assistant professor teaching classes in New Testament and homiletics and director of resident field education. From 1974-81 he served as pastor of St. Salvator in Venedy, Ill., and St. Peter in New Memphis, Ill.

Meyer was born in Chicago Heights, Ill. He is a 1973 graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, earning a master of divinity degree. He earned an M.A. (1974) and a Ph.D. (1986) in classical languages from Washington University in St. Louis. In 1993 Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind., awarded him the honorary degree of doctor of divinity.

Meyer served as third vice-president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod from 1995-1998. He was a charter board member of ALOA (Association of Lutheran Older Adults), has served as an honorary director of God’s Word to the Nations Bible Society and as a member of the standing committee on pastoral ministry for The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. He was pastoral adviser for the Southern Illinois District of the International Lutheran Laymen’s League and has served as first vice-president, second vice-president, secretary and circuit counselor of the Southern Illinois District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.

Meyer has written numerous sermons and columns for Lutheran Hour Ministries, including the booklets “Coping with Cancer” and “Real Men.” He co-authored The Crosses of Lent, in-depth Bible studies of Matthew and Prophecy in the LifeLight series and authored “The Place of the Sermon in the Order of Service” in Liturgical Preaching for Concordia Publishing House. He has contributed to the Concordia Journal and Issues in Christian Education.

He resides in St. Louis, Mo., with his wife Diane. They have two grown daughters, Elizabeth and Catharine.
