It is highly likely that your classroom has at least one child with “sensory dysfunction”, the over- or under- sensitivity of one or more of a person’s senses. By recognizing the signs and symptoms of these neurological inefficiencies, a teacher may be able to help a child compensate for the sensory misinformation. This presentation will help educators to recognize and understand DSI, and will give some tips for dealing with students who have sensory issues.
