"With Unveiled Faces – Reflecting the Lord’s Glory"

The 2009 South Wisconsin District convention takes its theme from 2 Corinthians 3:18. We have been baptized and given the Gift of the Holy Spirit, who has made us alive in Christ Jesus our Lord. We have received forgiveness of all of our sins through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. We continue to experience the love and joy of God as he pours out his grace upon us in his Word and Sacrament. We live in the light of his presence each day, and we look forward with great hope anticipation and joy to the glories of heaven. We now shine for Christ in all we think, say and do!

As we move into the future, let us do so in such a manner that the unbridled joy of being God’s forgiven children manifests itself to those around us. “We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face…” because the glory of God in us does not fade! In a sin-darkened world that is only growing darker, may God use us – his children – to reflect the Lord’s glory to a lost and dying world. May people see in us the glory of Christ, and may they come to know him and the salvation that he alone brings to all who come to him.

Our hope and prayer is that everyone attending the 2009 SWD convention will leave “With Unveiled Faces – Reflecting the Lord’s Glory” and will spread this to all in their local congregations, and beyond. To God be all the glory!
