Lutheran schools superintendent assists congregations that are operating Lutheran schools with staffing, call lists, accreditation, visits, state and federal advocacy, research, consultation and professional growth for teachers.
- Early childhood education aids congregations start early childhood ministries and bring Christ to little children with consultation, materials conferences, pastoral enrichment and professional growth for teachers.
- Genesis is a resource to assist congregations in starting Lutheran elementary and secondary schools consisting of a one-day consultation and a feasibility study. Contact the District superintendent of schools for more information.
- Strengthening Schools and Congregations is a resource to assist congregations in strengthening and revitalizing Lutheran elementary schools that are experiencing problems, so that the mission of sharing the caring Christ can be more effectively accomplished. Trained consultants are available without cost. Application must be made through the District superintendent of schools.
- Staff development provides seminars and conferences for professional church workers.

Oct. 11 fall singles retreat features theme of reaching out to Muslims
Brookfield Lutheran, Brookfield
Tim Albers will speak on the theme of Christians reaching out to the Muslim community. An afternoon service project will mark Bibles for prison ministry, which can impact many Muslims in that population.
Church planting event Sept. 19 at District office
Dr. Yohannes Mengsteab, LCMS director for new church development, will be the presenter at two seminars in Milwaukee on Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the South Wisconsin District office. The morning seminar on urban church planting is designed for city churches that are struggling with ministry focus beyond existence. Pastors and lay leaders of congregations which have identified themselves as Ablaze! covenant congregations, or any pastors and congregations interested in knowing more about becoming an Ablaze! covenant partner, are encouraged to attend the afternoon seminar. 2008 Campus Missionary Institute at CUW June 12-17
Initial training for the 2008 campus missionary institute (CMI), will be held on the Concordia University Wisconsin campus June 12-17. CMI is the Lutheran Campus Mission Association’s in-depth learning opportunity to help workers and the ministries they serve develop and implement a strategic plan for outreach on a nearby college or university campus. CMI is sponsored by the Lutheran Campus Mission Association, an organization with ties to LCMS World Mission.
