Pastor Germán Novelli is currently serving as vacancy pastor for Santa Cruz Lutheran Church (formerly Primera Iglesia) in Racine, which now worships at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, also of Racine. They have been without a pastor for almost two years. He preaches and conducts services on Sunday mornings and spends two days a week in Racine becoming familiar with the member families and meeting people in the Hispanic community.

The District hopes to partner with Santa Cruz and Holy Cross to provide a bi-lingual pastor to serve the Anglo congregation, the Hispanic congregation and a community of over 60% Hispanic population. Of primary importance will be the need to establish theological education classes in Racine for the sake of preparing local leadership that, God willing, could lead men toward ordination and bi-vocational service in the church. To “restart” the Hispanic Music Ministry the District must await the filling of the vacancy in Hispanic Ministry in Racine.
