Pastor Lemley is working with pre-DELTO student Chris Burrell in developing new opportunities in the neighborhood surrounding Bethany Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. The South Wisconsin District is funding Chris Burrell’s education in the pre-DELTO program while he also receives a stipend for part-time work at Bethany through a grant from LCMS World Relief and Human Care. In partnership with the District Missions Executive Rev. Dan McMiller and LCEF Vice President Tim Dittloff, Pastor Lemley, Chris Burrell and other leadership from Bethany Lutheran are examining the potential for urban redevelopment programs that may help link Bethany and other urban LCMS congregations to a community undergoing great and dramatic demographic change.
