The human care committee assists congregations to bring healing to those social ills that may disrupt their the life of te parish and community and to help prevent such ills.
The disability resource team develops awareness so that congregations will seek out and include people with disabilities in the full life and ministry of the church to enable these persons to use their gifts to serve the Lord and other people.

The morning session is for first year teachers. New teachers to the District will join us for lunch and the afternoon session - Love and Logic. There will also be a follow-up session for Love and Logic on Saturday, October 18, from 9 am - noon.

The Lord has called school administrators and faculty to be leaders “for such a time as this.” Gary Janetzke, SWD congregational services executive for youth, family and schools, will lead participants through a process that will enable school staffs to discover and live out focused lives based on their individual callings.

Oct. 11 fall singles retreat features theme of reaching out to Muslims

Tim Albers will speak on the theme of Christians reaching out to the Muslim community. An afternoon service project will mark Bibles for prison ministry, which can impact many Muslims in that population.
Church planting event Sept. 19 at District office
Dr. Yohannes Mengsteab, LCMS director for new church development, will be the presenter at two seminars in Milwaukee on Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the South Wisconsin District office. The morning seminar on urban church planting is designed for city churches that are struggling with ministry focus beyond existence. Pastors and lay leaders of congregations which have identified themselves as Ablaze! covenant congregations, or any pastors and congregations interested in knowing more about becoming an Ablaze! covenant partner, are encouraged to attend the afternoon seminar.
